The Big Shaqtus

First of all, Yahoo!'s front-page selections are hilarious. Little bullets on the war, economy, etc., but big pictures showcasing inane relationship columns like "10 Ways To Spice Up Your Relationship on Tuesdays." Then again, and I hate to admit it, but I guess if I have a choice between reading about something like Kanye West's tardiness at Bonnaroo, and something like the Zimbabwe Crisis, nine times out of 10 I'll click on the easy one. So I guess I'm partly to blame for videos of hamsters eating popcorn taking precedence over presidential election coverage on Yahoo!. At any rate, this Shaq picture made me laugh. It looks like a decorated officer, once resolute in his commitment to the law and the city, has knuckled under some awful pressure and embarrassed the force. To begin with, if I were mayor, I'd give him the keys to the city for making fun of Kobe, and maybe 10 minutes timeout for his french, but that's beside the point. The point is, Shaq's rap is a nursery rhyme compared to what he's already said before. Not that I disagree with his removal, it's just funny that people are surprised and disappointed that he used colorful language unbecoming an officer of the law. "I expected better of young O'neal. I never saw this coming, he was always such a respectful boy." You can put all the badges you want on a bull in a china shop, but he's still a bull in a china shop, for crying out loud. My favorite part of this story is that Shaq probably cares less than my Grandpa about all this fuss.
